DES MOINES, IOWA

The 2018 Division I Baseball All-Region team was announced Monday by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The ICCAC also released the coach, player and defensive player of the year awards.

Indian Hills and Iowa Western dominated the First-Team selections, notching 11 of the 12 selections. The Reivers led the way with eight selections while the Falcons had three. Marshalltown collected one First-Team honoree.

Iowa Western took all three first-team pitcher selections. Sean Chandler doubled as a pitcher and was voted 2018 ICCAC Division I Baseball Player of the Year. The red-shirt sophomore from Bellevue, Neb. tossed 60 total innings this season appearing 12 times, 11 of them starts.

Fellow Reviers Indigo Diaz and Keaton Winn filled the other two pitching spots. Diaz threw 54.1 innings, second most and collected 10 wins (and no losses), just as Chandler did. He struck out 82 batters and held an ERA of 1.66.
