Reiver Baseball Winter Camps and Clinics
This winter Iowa Western will be holding two hitting leagues, a youth camp, an exclusive pitcher/catcher clinic, and an elite hitting camp.
The hitting leagues will be split into two separate time frames. The pre-Christmas hitting league will start on November 7th and run until December 12th on every Sunday. The post-Christmas hitting league will go from January 9th and run until February 6th on every Sunday. The pre and post-Christmas time frames will have two sessions. The first session goes from 2:00 – 3:30 and the second from 3:30 – 5:00. The camp will be held in the old gym on The Iowa Western Campus in Kanesville. The camp will be run by Head Coach Marc Rardin, Assistant Coach Rob Allison, and Assistant Coach Chris Johns along with players from the team. Players will go through the same drills that current Iowa Western players go through. The drills will consist of soft toss, tee work, bp, hitting approaches; ect....The Iowa Western Baseball team has been in the top five in the country the past four years in batting average, which helped with the 2010 National Championship. For any other questions on this camp you can contact Coach Johns via e-mail at email@example.com or by phone at 719-310-3793
The Youth Camp is designed to develop specific skills in the game of baseball to a wide variety of age groups. Campers will be placed in age appropriate groups to allow camp staff to instruct each participant in a positive, fun, and safe atmosphere. We will instruct base running, hitting, throwing, and fielding in drill sessions and skill specific games and activities. The IWCC Baseball Staff will strive to provide the best quality instruction to most benefit each individual participant.
The Exclusive Pitchers/Catcher Camp will be run by Head Coach Marc Rardin, Recruiting Coordinator Rob Allison, and Assistant Coach Chris Johns. Coach Rardin will put the pitchers through a number of different mechanical drills, arm care exercises, medicine ball workouts, and will end with a bullpen. During the bullpen, coach will help each player with learning the correct way to throw different pitches. He will also go over the importance of having good balance and direction. On the catching side, Coach Allison and Coach Johns will go over multiple catching drills. The drills will concentrate on receiving, blocking, transferring, and the correct foot work when throwing to bases. At the end of the camp the catchers will catch bullpens. In last years Exclusive Pitchers/Catcher Camp we signed two student/athletes.
The Elite Hitting camp will be run by Head Coach Marc Rardin, Recruiting Coordinator Rob Allison, and Assistant Coach Chris Johns. The reason for attending this camp is to get one on one work with a coaching staff full of college and professional experience. Each future prospect will be ran through multiple drills that will concentrate and all aspects your swing. The drills that will be done are ones that we do with our players here at Iowa Western. Whether you’re a sophomore, junior, or senior, this would be a great opportunity to be seen by our coaching staff. In last years Elite Hitting Camp we signed two student/athletes.
We are looking forward to have you at one of our camps. Remember this is a great way to be seen by the Iowa Western Coaching Staff and a way to learn new drills that could help make you become a better baseball player. If you have any questions feel free to contact Coach Johns at 719-310-3793 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
