Iowa Western Presented the Midwest Football Conference Championship Trophy
In only their second year as a program, the Iowa Western Reiver Football team took home the Midwest Football Conference Championship. Finishing 9-2, the Reiver's only losses came during post season play, a loss in the Midwest Football West Division Playoffs and a tough loss to Snow College in the Zions Bank Top of the Mountain Bowl. In the regular season, Iowa Western went undefeated (9-0) and climbed as high as 2nd in the national poll. They had the conferences top defense and the 2nd rated offense (only behind Grand Rapids).
With an impressive sophomore season under their belt, including the teams first ever bowl appearance, the Reiver's will look to build of their success this off season. With so much accomplished in only their second year, Iowa Western has gained the respect of the conference and nation as a title contending team. Next year, they undoubtedly will be looking towards a bowl game victory and maybe even a national championship berth if they continue their tremendous growth rate.
