Reivers Pre-Season #1 in Collegiate Baseball
On December 20, 2010, Collegiate Baseball came out with the NJCAA Pre-Season Rankings for the spring of 2011 and Iowa Western was at the top of the poll. With strong support of the sophomore class, the Reivers won their first National Championship in 2010 with an overall record of 51-12, becoming the first Northern District team to claim the title. The Reivers are no strangers to the Junior College World Series, qualifying five out of the last six years including four straight appearances. The road to the NJCAA Championship and even a World Series appearance was far from imaginable after the Reivers started the season 7-8. Things turned around for the Reivers when Head Coach Marc Rardin guided his team to a 44-4 record to close the season. To win the National Championship, Iowa Western had to beat the No. 2 and No. 1 ranked teams in back to back to back games. This spring Iowa Western will strive for another successful season in the midst of a very competitive schedule opening up at Seward County Community College on February 10th in Liberal, Kansas.
