Fox Inks with Lady Jags
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State head women's basketball coach Nate Teymer announced Monday the eighth addition to the Lady Jaguar program for the 2011-12 season.
Marina Fox, a 6-3 forward from Fredericksburg, Va., has signed a grant-in-aid with the Lady Jags and will enroll at ASU for the Fall, 2011 semester. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
A two-year starter at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Fox averaged 10.7 ppg., and 8.4 rpg., and shot 54 percent from the field during the 2010-11 season. She tallied a team-high 40 blocks and was named to the Region XVI First Team squad.
Under head coach Jim Turgeon, Fox helped lead the Reivers to a 28-3 record and a No. 3 final national ranking in the NJCAA Division I poll.
"Marina will give us a much-needed inside presence we were lacking last season," Teymer said. "She has a great touch around the basket and can step out and knock down a 15 to 18-foot jumper. She will definitely make our basketball team better right away."
