Reivers Win Championship in SFC Tournament
The Reivers travelled to Florida this past week where they went 4-1 in the State Florida College Tournament. Iowa Western's first win came against Polk State on Friday afternoon. That evening, they played Florida Central, who's currently ranked 20th in the nation. The Reivers got off to an early 1-0 lead after set one, but dropped the last three sets 20-25. The next morning, the Reivers came back with two wins against Florida College and Brevard Community College. The two wins placed the Reivers in the championship game against Polk State, where Iowa Western swept the Eagles three sets to none for the second time that weekend. Named to the All-Tournament Team was Zoraida Cruz, and the Tournament MVP was awarded to Stephanie Martinez. After a long road trip, the Reivers look to stay in Council Bluffs this weekend, where they will host the Reiver Festival Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
