Reivers Tally PBs at Iowa Intercollegiate Meet
This weekend the Reiver men and women cross country teams traveled to Ames to run on Iowa State's cross country course. Nearly all of the cross country teams in the state of Iowa were in attendance. The Revier men placed 4th out of ten teams with the team front man, Isaiah Samoei placing fourth overall in a personal best of 25:33. Also finishing in the Reiver top five were sophomores Nate Carr (12th 27:11) and Garland Bennett (38th 29:31), and freshmen Kyle Blue (20th 27:43) and Bryant Rader (35th 29:22). Clocking personal bests over 8k in addition to Samoei were Ethan Smith (30:19), Steve Kuykendall (32:31), and Jaleal Butler (33:02)
The women's team had even more personal bests than the men. Each of their top four runners ran faster than ever before for 5k cross country. Leading the way was Kaylee Fly who ran 20:12 and placed 19th. The next three runners, Gladys Downing, Dana Miller, and Madison Brummer, took the 39th, 40th, and 41st places in times of 21:34, 21:42, and 21:57, respectively. Finishing off the top five was Keya Rohlman in 47th position. Three additional personal bests were set by Melissa Groce (23:13), Nicolia Edwards (23:24), and Brittany Davis (24:43)
The Reivers next race is October 3rd at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Cross Country Invitational in Chicago.
