IWCC Offense Too Much for Central
Iowa Western Community College shut the door early on Central Community College, capturing a 16-2 victory on Wednesday at Council Bluffs, IA during Game 1. With 16 runs in the first three innings, Iowa Western Community College left no doubt about the eventual outcome. An RBI single by Cailin Simpson, a two-run double by Daleigh Fossler, an RBI triple by Kylee Simpson, , and a passed ball in the first inning and an RBI single by Taylor Jonas, an RBI single by Joselynn Sakaguchi, and a passed ball in the second inning supplied the early offense for The Reivers. Fossler racked up two RBIs on two hits for Iowa Western Community College. IWCC easily handled Central Community College pitching as seven hitters combined for 13 hits, 10 RBIs and 13 runs scored. In Game 2, Central Community College still didn't stand a chance, as Iowa Western Community College captured a blowout 8-0 win in five innings. Daleigh Fossler racked up three RBIs on two hits for The Reivers. Fossler singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning. IWCC's Kylee Polsley kept Central off the scoreboard for all five innings she toed the rubber.
