Reivers Sweep Conference Foes Indian Hills

Iowa Western Community College's Greta Smeins pitched seven strong innings to carry the Reivers to a 2-0 win over Indian Hills Community College in seven innings on Thursday in Game 1. IWCC held Indian Hills without a run while Smeins was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on seven hits while striking out three. Rebekah Sanchez was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. She singled in the first and fifth innings. The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Reivers scored one run on an error.
 

Game one also provided a milestone win at home for Coach Lana Ross, as she received her 400th win!

In Game two, Rebekah Sanchez went 4-4 at the plate, helping Iowa Western Community College to a 4-1 victory over Indian Hills Community College. She singled in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings.Kylee Polsley sparkled en route to the win, tossing seven innings for the Reivers. After a quick strike from Indian Hills,IWCC responded with one run in the first as they scored on a passed ball. The Reivers then went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on two singles for the win.
