Glantz Earns National Player of the Year Honor
Charlotte, N.C. - For the third time in program history, an Iowa Western Reivers quarterback is tabbed as the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year. Nate Glantz joins Jake Waters (2012) and Kai Locksley (2017) as the third quarterback under Head Coach Scott Strohmeier to earn the nation's top offensive honor.
The freshman out of Bellevue West High School led the 2020-21 squad to a 7-1 record in an offense that averaged 403.1 yards per game. In just eight games, Glantz completed 63% of his passes for 1,811 yards, throwing 23 touchdowns to just four interceptions; moving into ninth place in school history for passing yards in a career, and finishing tied with Connor Bravard (2013) for the fourth-most passing touchdowns in a season behind only Jake Waters (2011, '12) and Tay Bender (2014).
"Nate had an unbelievable season this spring." said Strohmeier, "He played with a chip on his shoulder all year and it was awesome to see the team gravitate to him as the leader."
