Reivers Take Two at Dale Howard Classic
IOWA FALLS, Iowa - Iowa Western Men's Basketball remained perfect on the 2025-26 season, taking a pair of games in the Dale Howard Classic on the campus of Ellsworth Community College, defeating John Wood CC and Jefferson CC.
On Friday night, the Reivers would need overtime to secure the victory over John Wood. Iowa Western led for the entire game, but John Wood made a late push to tie the game. The Reivers would score the first four points over OT and never looked back in the extra time. Judah Vignery led the Reivers in scoring on Friday night with 23 points, while Zayden Best also had 19 points. JP Sump and Nate Parras also reached double figures in scoring with 13 and 10, respectively.
Saturday's contest was not nearly as close as the Reivers dominated Jefferson College for much of the game. Zayden Best led the way with 36 points as he connected on six 3-pointers for the game. Vignery and JP Sumo both scored 15 points, and Jang Ruei scored 13 points.
Iowa Western is now 7-0 on the season. Next, the Reivers will host Highland Community College on Wednesday, November 19th. Highland is also currently undefeated on the season at 5-0.
