Wahman Shines in Oklahoma
Sam Wahman stood out and played great golf in the Men's Spring season debut. The Men participated in the Oakwood Intercollegiate hosted by Dodge City CC in Enid Oklahoma. The teams competing were some of the top Junior Colleges in the nation. Wahman shot rounds of 73, 69 & 73 to finish in 8th spot individually. The team finished over-all in 8th spot in a field of 18 teams.
"For our first tournament of the season I was pleased with how we performed," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "For many of these teams competing they had already played in 1 or 2 tournaments. We had to kick the winter rust off. Coming out of our winter season and putting on our indoor turf for 4 months, a few of our players were having problems adjusting to the fast green's speeds."
Freshman Ty Potter had a good tournament as well, shooting 74, 74, 75.
The men will take a week off before traveling to Newton, Kansas (April 6th and 7th) and playing at Sand Creek Station. This is the course where this year's National Championship will take place.
