Reivers Roll to 35-7 Victory over Iowa Lakes
Estherville, IA — The Iowa Western Reivers continued their midseason surge on Tuesday night, defeating Iowa Lakes Community College on the road.
The dual opened at 125lbs, where Noah Jones put Iowa Western on the board immediately with a forfeit victory, handing the Reivers a quick 6–0 advantage.
At 133lbs, Isaac Ekdahl kept the energy rolling. Ekdahl piled up the points and secured a major decision win to extend the Reiver lead to 10–0. At 141lbs, Cole Fenwick remained steady and reliable, earning a regular decision, pushing the Reivers ahead 13–0.
Iowa Lakes picked up its first win of the night at 149lbs, but momentum shifted back to the Reivers as Braxton Peacher delivered a poised performance, winning by regular decision at 157lbs.
At 174lbs, Matteo Nikolov pushed the Reiver lead even further with a major decision victory. At 184lbs, Cal Wells added another solid performance, controlling the match throughout and finishing with a decisive major decision victory.
Iowa Lakes earned its second, and final, victory of the night at 197lbs, but the dual ended with an exclamation point as heavyweight Jadyn Cooper delivered a fall to close out the evening.
