Reivers Crown National Champion, Earn Five All-Americans at NJCAA Championships
Council Bluffs, IA — The Iowa Western Men's Wrestling team delivered a strong performance at the NJCAA National Championships, crowning a National Champion, producing five All Americans, and moving up 12 spots from last year to finish 10th in the country as a team.
Tony Palmer led the way at 197lb, completing an undefeated season with a national championship. Palmer controlled the bracket from start to finish, wrestling with consistency throughout the tournament to secure the title and cap off one of the most impressive seasons in recent program history.
Noah Jones earned an eighth-place finish at 125lb while battling through a deep bracket to earn All-American honors. Hudson Palmer took seventh at 141lb, while Logan Crowther followed the success by adding a seventh-place finish of his own at 149lb. Matteo Nikolov turned in a strong performance, becoming a two-time All-American by placing sixth at 174lb.
Additional contributions came from throughout the lineup. Isaac Ekdahl went 3–2 at 133lb and came within reach of the podium. Cal Wells picked up a win at 184lb, while Braxton Peacher and Kolby Scott competed in tough brackets at 157lb and 285lb. Andrew Crowther qualified at 165lb but was unable to compete due to an injury sustained at the District tournament.
With a national champion, five All-Americans, and a Top 10 team finish, Iowa Western continued to establish itself as a competitive force on the national stage. The performance reflects the growth of the program and sets a strong foundation moving forward.
